How does Ellipsus balance user anonymity with legal requirements?
We never want Ellipsus to be a place where users feel watched or exposed. Anonymity and privacy is one of the backbones of Ellipsus, and have been major priorities since day one.
We limit the information we collect (we only collect what’s necessary to create your account, maintain and improve our services, and provide support), and we believe strongly in creative freedom. We’re not interested in being the content police.
At the same time, we have to comply with applicable laws. We intervene as little as we reasonably can, and respond to legal issues only when required.
But the Terms of Service says I'm granting Ellipsus permission to display/share my work?
Ellipsus has to be able to do things like transmit and display your work in order to transmit and display it to you (and to anyone you invite to see it). We cannot publish or share your work with others without your consent.
